This Week In RE
All month long, we are exploring how kids can practice resisting some of the main pressures that pull them away from being their best selves. This week, we are exploring the challenge of resisting the unhealthy parts of screen time. We will shift our focus away from screens and onto our community, by planning a whole church event in which kids and adults put down their phones and connect with one another.
Winter Weather Information
As the winter weather season is upon us, there may be times we will move Worship to zoom only. In the event of a storm, we will send announcements by email, and broadcast over WMUR Weather cancellation notices, as well as on our Facebook page.
Please keep these resources in mind. Also, feel free to join our zoom service any time the weather may be iffy, we have a vibrant group online!

Our building needs:
- Our Bell Tower roof and the windows in the Minister’s Office need to be replaced as soon as possible.
- The main building and RE wing roofs need significant repairs/upgrades.
- The building exterior needs to be painted.
- Several of the Stained Glass Windows need restoration work in the next couple of years.
- Other windows, paint, insulation, and maintenance items need to be addressed.

HOW: We are beginning work on a capital campaign to raise funds for much needed repairs on the church building. The campaign will include:

Planning Center Online
Good morning lovely UUCM people! I have been hard at work on our church management software swap. If you are using or have used Breeze in the past, we will be switching platforms soon! If you are the leader of a committee and would like to know more about how this new software can help your committee function and work, please email admin@uumanchester.org or stop by my office during hours. In the next few weeks, I will be putting out a mass email to the congregation with a link for you to sign in and make sure your information is correct! When I imported our information from Breeze, a fair amount of info didn’t take. Making sure your info in Planning Center is correct and up to date will help me make sure our mailing lists and in-house directories are correct. Look forward to the next update, as it will come soon!

Hospitality Update Jan 2026
Happy New Years to all! I’d like to thank the volunteers who hosted Hospitality this year! The kitchen order and sanitation have largely been followed according to our new “Carry In Carry Out Policy. The kitchen condition and organization is much improved than a year ago.
I’ve noted that the food assortment at Coffee Hour has gotten quite extravagant at times, and I think it’s time we pull back, acknowledging that its intent is a snack, not a meal. Choir Sundays are well attended, holiday weekends are not. Each volunteer should use their judgment.
Those who are not serving hospitality sometimes bring in unanticipated food. “It was a great deal!” is said. It is a very kind gesture, but to avoid a stockpile of food and leftovers, please contact me in advance. I will be able to notify volunteers on duty to plan accordingly. Perhaps we should consider donating extra nonperishable items to the pantry box. Also, unfortunately, we cannot serve any previously served food leftover from home. Thank you for understanding
I hope to hold an evening Hospitality training for newbies. Date/time TBA. I can also do on the job training if needed.
