Alone we can do so little.  Together we can do so much.”   Helen Keller

We invite you to participate in this year’s annual pledge drive for our Fiscal Year 22-23 Operating Budget (July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023).

Whether your pathway to Manchester UU is through the choir, the Religious Education program, the Sunday morning services, working with Social Responsibility to make the world a better place, or just the need to be part of a caring community, the church is always there. It is now time to reflect on how much this beloved community matters to you. It is a balance between love for the church and ability to be financially supportive.

This year is not without its challenges.  Our operations as a church cost more than we receive through pledges and other income.  We need members and friends who have not pledged before to do just that, and those who pledge to increase their offerings. While we have benefited from COVID relief programs, requirements such as improving air circulation in the sanctuary, replacing the door lock security system and a comprehensive communications system to support both virtual and live services need to be addressed.

We begin our annual pledge drive on March 5 with a candlelight Zoom dinner at 6:00 PM.  The Finance Committee develops the church budget based on expected income from the pledge drive.

In these times of fear and uncertainty, we are a beacon of inspiration and hope for those who face discrimination, hate, and loneliness.  We need your financial support to improve our outreach.  We also have needs within our church community. Like all UU congregations, Manchester UU is self-governing and self-supporting.  It takes significant financial resources to support the church.  We ask each member and friend to increase their pledge by 7-10%.   Whatever amount you can pledge is important and is gratefully appreciated.

There are several ways you can make your pledge (and we ask you make your pledge by April 5).

  • Although we will hope that you are able to increase your pledge to meet the church’s needs, your current pledge will continue if you do not complete a pledge card. We will need to know your method of payment. Please notify Karen Comly, our collector, of preferred credit card or payment information, or,
  • In order to make a new pledge or change your existing one, mail pledge cards to UU, or,
  • To pledge online, please use the following link:  https://forms.gle/rMexJa4umkrjFLXDA

Please be assured that all pledge information is confidential.  Thank you very much for your help in making Manchester UU a vibrant spiritual home!  We are all stewards of Manchester UU.

Your Finance Committee,

Web, Jefferson, Doug, Paul, Karen, June, Jennifer, and Brian
