How We Worship
Although the structure, content, and feel of our Sunday worship services change from week to week, most of our Sunday services include:
- Opening words that call us into our time of worship
- Lighting our chalice as the symbol of our liberal religious faith and heritage
- Singing hymns or songs
- Reading from many different sources of inspiration and wisdom, both modern and ancient, secular as well as religious
- A story or reading for children of all ages
- A time for silence, reflection, meditation, and prayer
- A message or sermon by our minister, a guest minister, a speaker, a lay worship leader, or a member or friend of the congregation
- An opportunity to practice generosity through an offering for the support of our mission, ministry and values or the works of other organizations for social justice
- Words of benediction to send us out into the world to put our faith into action.
