MAY EDITION OF THE SOCIAL JUSTICE MINUTE

This is your place to find all our recent projects and happenings, receive updates on Share the Plate information, and find out how you can volunteer your time or resources to help us with social justice and climate action in our church, community and the wider world.

Here is the last quarter of Share the Plate totals:

January: NH Community Bail Fund, $498.50

February: Meals on Wheels of Hillsborough County, $797.05

March: Equality Health Center, 589.75

The Green Team Subcommittee, which works to promote environmental justice within our congregation and in the larger local and world community, is in need of willing members. The group meets regularly, usually by Zoom, and would love some additional people to share the load of this important work.

Notice that there are a few booklets placed on the Social Responsibility table, WHO ARE THE FREE STATERS? And how to stop them raising our property taxes, destroying our schools, and taking over NH town. Please feel free to take a copy, read it, and return it for others to borrow. Several members of the Social Responsibility Committee recently attended the UU Action Annual Meeting, and there was a very good presentation about the FSP and how to stop their actions. We picked up a few copies of the booklet there to share with the congregation.

  1. Edit: I meant Social Responsibility Table, not Share the Plate table!
