Remembrance Service
Sunday, November 2nd will be our annual Remembrance Service.
If you have loved ones who you would like to have included in the slide show during the service, please send your pictures with names to the Worship & Music email: worshipandmusic@uumanchester.org by Saturday, 10/25 by noon.
You may also choose to bring physical photos to church on the morning of November 2nd to place on our shared Ancestor table.

Hospitality Sign Up
Marge Goudreault is currently coordinating our Hospitality sign up. If you have an issues or questions regarding signing up or need to make a change, for example you can no longer do the shift you took, please reach out to Marge so she can make sure the whiteboard and online sign up are reconciled and cans tart to recruit a replacement. 24wins@comcast.net

Holiday Fair
Save the date! We will be having the annual UU Holiday Fair on saturday, December 6th (the first Saturday in December).
We will need volunteers to help make this work. We are especially looking for someone who could be in charge of the cookie walk. If you are interested in helping out this year, please contact me.

Holiday Raffle Baskets 2025
Its that time again when we are looking ahead to planning the Faire. I’m Chair again this year, and Marge Goudrealt is the Co -Chair, and we’re looking forward to staying top performer in earnings.
If you are new, and not familiar with our basket raffle, here’s the scoop. Donators select or create a theme, gather items accordingly.
The Basket Elves transform them into beautifully wrapped gift baskets to be raffled off at the Faire. People can share the cost of items if they desire. We provide the baskets for all.
Sign ups start Sunday October 26th, and items are due no later than November 23rd. Your donation can be brought in any time, or left in the office. This allows us to work on the baskets as they come in and avoid deadline rush.
Should you see any good/clean med-large baskets with handles at yard sales or thrift stores, we always can add to our supply.
Manchester UU Heating Season Announcement
The cold weather has started and the heat has been turned on at the church and we wanted to share a few points to help folks manage the thermostats.
The Sanctuary is heated by both heat pumps and the oil boiler. The thermostats in the Sanctuary can always be adjusted to people’s needs and the auto program will reset back to the original settings a few times a day automatically.
The fellowship hall thermostat is currently a standard unit and people can raise up for an event but please remember to lower when you leave.
The heat pumps in the lounge and lower RE hallway are not programmable so if you choose to raise them then if you can remember, please return back to the original settings. There is a note next to these two controllers that identifies what the current desired temperature settings is when you leave the area. This best setting changes during the heating season depending on the cold outside so just check the signage.
For the RE wing there are additional thermostats for the electrical baseboard in each room. Feel free to set these at the temperature that makes you comfortable and know that if you leave without lowering the setting the auto program will return the settings to the best temperature automatically a few times a day.
Finally, during the heating season we like to keep the doors open in the RE wing (downstairs and upstairs) to allow the more efficient heat pump heating reach areas a little further away. You are more than welcome to close doors for activities if needed and please just open them up when you are done.
