The Unitarian Universalist Church of Manchester welcomes you to our next Sunday service! Sunday June 14th we will be our Annual Flower Ceremony, so we encourage you to bring in your flowers! There will be some flowers donated for folks who are unable to bring their own. After our 10 am service, we will meet in our basement Hall for coffee, snacks, and community hour.

Flame And Chalice Remodel – Volunteer needed
A few of our online spaces are changing this year, including our website! In preparation for our website redesign, we are changing how our newsletter works. Currently, it uses pages from the website to create articles. This won’t work when we switch to the new uumanchester.org. We are moving to a separate service, so that we can run it independent of the website. With this change, we are able to give it a fresh new look with a few tweaks in how articles are submitted! Going forward, the newsletter articles need to be under 250 words, will have a 3 week maximum display time, and announcements and articles submitted have to be in by Thursday at the latest to work with our admin’s schedule. The Flame and Chalice will be going out on Fridays, as our admin doesn’t work Saturdays after June 6th. While the admin is going to be putting out our newsletter for the time being, this is a volunteer position. If you would like to learn how our newsletter works and be trained on how to manage it, please email admin@uumanchester.org for more information.

In the spirit of this month’s theme, “Flourishing Together”, we’ll be celebrating Flower Communion Sunday with our own flower communion downstairs. We welcome you to bring flowers from home or share the flowers in the classroom.

June 28: Pride Sunday: This service will be needing three individuals (LGBTQIA2s+ people, allies, family, and/or friends) to prepare and share stories regarding Pride during the Reflection Time. July 5: Personal Heroes: Who Has Inspired You to Be a Better Version of Yourself?
Is there someone in your life journey who inspired you to be a better version of yourself, and perhaps one who brought you closer to your UU values, whether you understood this at the time or not? If you are inspired to speak about this is topic, please contact Angela Audet at angelaaudet@gmail.com. We would like 3-4 speakers, speaking for 3-5 minutes each.
Yard Sale
Our annual Yard Sale has been scheduled! Join us September 12th from 8am to 2pm for a fun day of selling old items, finding new treasures, and raising money for our church. Volunteer opportunities and setup times will be announced soon, so stay tuned if you’d like to volunteer to assist with set up or run tables!
Pride Volunteers Needed!
Pride Festival is coming up and UUCM needs volunteers! The Parade/Festival is June 27 from 11am to 5pm. We will need people to march in the parade, help with festival table setup and tear down, and manning the table in two hour increments. Further information will be provided as information is provided by Manchester True Collaborative.
If you are not able to participate in this year’s UU Manchester Pride 26, but wish to offer support to our effort, the Board has approved our reaching out to our members for support. We will have an Amazon Wishlist of things we would appreciate to have to make this year’s Pride event a success!
Disability Pride Tabling Opportunity!
On July 26th, there will be a Disability Pride Event in Dover, NH. Details are still being worked out by the head organizer, but this week they reached out to our Administrator to see if we would like to host a table for the event! If anyone is interested in running a UU Manchester table in Dover, please email Tess Bloodrune at admin@uumanchester.org. If you are willing to give rides to the Disability Pride event after Sunday services, please also contact Tess to arrange car pooling opportunities.
