The Unitarian Universalist Church of Manchester welcomes you to our next Sunday Service! This Easter Sunday we will be talking about the true meaning of Easter. After the service we will meet downstairs for coffee and snacks. The RE Team has also prepared an egg hunt for the kids! This egg hunt will be outdoors, so make sure the participating children are dressed to run outside.

This Week in RE
This week in RE we will be learning about Easter. We will approach this through the lens of our monthly theme: Embracing Possibilities. We will talk about how our UU faith encourages us to trust in the possibility that things will get better, even in times of sadness and loss. We will also have fun Easter activities including an Easter Egg Hunt! Weather permitting, we will be outside for the egg hunt, so please bring appropriate outdoor clothing.
April Game Night
Come join us Saturday April 11th to play Scrabble, Cribbage, Clue, Bananagrams, Qwirkle, Backgammon, Jenga, Ticket To Ride, or anything that you bring yourself. I will bring some easy but less well-known games to spice the evening up.
Please arrive at 6pm to the upstairs lounge with any games that you want to play, a snack to share, and we will play until we get tired. Kids welcome!

Current Year Pledge Payments and Contributions of Record
As we approach the final few months of the current fiscal year, the finance committee would like to encourage you to fulfill your FY 25-26 pledge by the end of the fiscal year, June 30th. Due to much greater than anticipated building repairs, oil and electricity use for heating, and snow removal costs, we are headed for a deficit for the current year. To minimize the deficit, we ask everyone to pay their pledge in full and by June 30th if possible. If you won’t be able to fulfill your pledge, please let our collector, Chris Monroe, know by emailing her at collector@uumanchester.org.
Also, we want to remind you about the eligibility requirements for voting at the annual meeting on Sunday, May 17th.
Voting eligibility for church meetings per our bylaws:
1) You must be a signed member of UU Manchester at least 30 days prior to the meeting.
2) You must have made a contribution of record to the church in the current fiscal year. Unidentified plate donations do not count, as the collector has no way to know who made them. You can put cash plate donations in an envelope with your name on it, and it will be credited to you. All pledge payments are a contribution of record. If for some reason, you cannot satisfy this requirement by 4/17/26 (for this fiscal year July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026), you would need to get a waiver from the minister or the president of the board in order to qualify to vote. Note that current year pledge payments made before the start of the fiscal year do count, as they are credited in the current fiscal year.

Star Island History Week

A Long Talk – Anti-Racism Activation Experience
A Long Talk About The Uncomfortable Truth was developed by two Black fathers, Kyle Williams and Kamal Carter, in the wake of George Floyd’s murder in May 2020, during a moment of national reckoning. A Long Talk provides a space for conversations that people are afraid to have, and empowers the participants with knowledge and skills to interrupt problematic thinking and behaviors.
