Collecting Items for Patrons of 39 Beech Street Engagement Center, August 12 Event
The 39 Beech Street Engagement Center is a resource for unhoused residents of Manchester. The Manchester Interfaith Coalition on Homelessness has organized an event at the Engagement Center at which area congregations of faith will host tables to offer the Center’s patrons needed products that help them day-to-day. The event is August 12, 10 a.m. to noon. UU Manchester will be hosting a table.
Since we already collect non-perishable food items for the FIT Food Pantry, we are hoping our congregation will donate items for this event, such as those on the following list:
• Individually wrapped rolls or two-packs of toilet paper or paper towels
• Individually wrapped plasticware or (preferably) bio-degradable bamboo-based tableware
• Small packs of napkins
• Wet wipes
• Toothpaste, toothbrushes, and travel-size mouth wash
• Travel-size tissue packs
• Toiletries
• Feminine hygiene products
• Socks
• Pens and note pads
• Snack items such as peanut butter crackers or cookies
You will find a bin near the altar at church in which you can leave your donations until August 12.
In addition to providing needed and helpful items to our unhoused residents, your donations show they are part of a community that cares about them.
