UUSJ Democracy Action Team Request and Survey

We are the Democracy Action Team of Unitarian Universalists for Social Justice (UUSJ), whose mission is to advance equitable national policies and actions aligned with UU values– through engagement, education, and advocacy. Like many, we are deeply concerned that our democracy, our freedoms, and our rule of law are under threat like never before.
Our team is organizing events, activities, and voting related actions to assist congregations in their preparations and work for the critical 2024 elections. We have collaborated with the UU the Vote program and supplemented the work they do, and we plan to continue this effort. Our work extends beyond elections, focusing on many aspects of democracy and the dangers we see such as voter suppression, gerrymandering, and the threats of authoritarianism.
In the hope that more congregations will join our efforts to save our democracy, we have prepared a short survey to learn what congregations have been doing to support democracy and what they would like to do going forward. We want to know if your congregation would like to collaborate with us in some way. There is strength in numbers, and UU’s as one voice must be heard.
