Restorative Circles Facilitator training

Hello all,

The Town Hall that was held on 1/29 was a huge success. We are very thankful that so many were able to attend, and that they participated in the workshops held by Sarah-Elizabeth Anderson.

I am reaching out to you today to extend the opportunity to attend Restorative Circles Facilitator training with Sarah Elizabeth. This training will be held on Zoom once a week for 6 weeks beginning on February 7th. The Restorative Circles practice is one we would like to adopt in our congregation to increase communication and navigate conflict. The board has voted to provide the following:

The church will cover $100 of the $145 cost to attend Restorative Circles Facilitator training for up to 5 members. This means the attendee would be expected to pay $45 to attend.

Those interested should reply to this email by Saturday the 4th. Due to the limited availability the spots will be first come first serve, and we have asked that no more than one board member attend this first round of trainings.

Please see below for more information on the training.

Yours in service,

Dave Dutilley Board President

From Sarah Elizabth Anderson:

Our next session of Restorative Circles Facilitator Training begins February 7, 2023. This six-week workshop happens Tuesday evenings via Zoom and is offered at a sliding scale of $355-$144 for the six-week session. You chose the amount that works within your budget, PayPal or check accepted.

We will explore:

What gets in the way of listening and being heard, especially when conflict arises.

How to listen to understand and create a space of empathy within ourselves for others.

How we can use this way of communicating to help our communities connect when it seems impossible to hear one another.

We’ll start to develop skills for facilitating conversations using reflective listening that will enhance your ability to help your communities lean into conflict. This is a process of reflective listening. Restorative Circles create an opportunity for a speaker to be heard and fully understood by the person they most need to have hear them.

A member of the class said, “This process allows space for me to hear another’s heart.”

As support is offered through the Restorative Circle process to the world, starting in our communities, there’s a ripple effect. Each person coming to the conversation learns this skill to take into their lives.

Come experience listening, being heard and feeling the empathy you have deepening. Create the capacity within yourself to hold space for difficult conversations with members of our community. Let us together bring change to the world one moment at a time!  I look forward to our journey together.

Starting February 7th – March 14th 2023, 6:00-8:30 pm ET

May we co-create Peace,

Sarah-Elizabeth Anderson, Restorative Circle Facilitator and Trainer
