On Sunday, 10/15, Liz Alcauskas received a Micah Award from the Granite State Organizing Project (GSOP).  Our church nominated her for her work in the Sanctuary/Asylum program, which has enabled our church to offer housing to 3 immigrants seeking asylum, as well as being on the Green Team (seeking Green Sanctuary certification from the UUA), working with the local NAACP to distribute air quality monitors around Manchester.   She is also a member of our Social Responsibility Committee, which does social justice work in Manchester.  A group of people from UU Manchester attended the dinner in support of her much-deserved recognition.  The Micah Awards are given to honor the extraordinary social justice work done by individuals in the community.
