Message From The Minister

Dear members and friends:

Watching the rise in caseloads, testing positivity, and associated news about Covid and particularly the Delta variant— and after reviewing the most recent UUA guidance and CDC recommendations— I concluded that I had to recommend to the Board that we postpone our reopening and the beginning of limited in-person worship. Your Board agreed and so we are delaying reopening until the various pandemic markers decline to the point where we feel that it is safe enough for us to begin to gather.

No one is happy about this; we are all disappointed and we are all tired of the pandemic.

No date has been set, at this time, as a presumptive new opportunity to reopen. In the meantime, we will continue to hold Sunday worship, adult RE programs, and other gatherings on Zoom. Your Worship & Music Committee is engaged in upgrading audiovisual equipment in the sanctuary to allow us to broadcast a service from there, and to make our future multiplatform (in person and broadcast) services better and more equitably accessible.

Look for information for how to participate in this Sunday’s Water Communion (Sept 5, 2021) in an upcoming email.

In faith,

Rev. Patrick

  1. I really hated having you (face invisible) alone in the sanctuary. You know what a disappointment it was to the congregation to learn we would not be returning to the sanctuary. The least you could do is join us in exile.
