Lead Exposure Prevention Committee Presentation – January 22

On Monday, January 22 at 7-9 pm, UUCM will host a presentation on the crisis of lead contamination and poisoning in Manchester by Phil Alexakos, Chief of Environmental Health and Emergency Preparedness. Several Manchester Aldermen are expected to attend and the event is open to the public. Currently, Manchester has the highest rate of childhood lead poisoning in New Hampshire. The presentation will include firsthand stories, a question and answer session, and ways to get involved and advocate for better testing and remediation in our city.  The event is co-hosted by the UUCM Social Responsibility Committee and Granite State Organizing Project.

Volunteers are needed to help with refreshments, set-up and clean-up, and greeting attendees. Contact Liz Alcuskas, Jackie Spennard or Parker Prescott if you can help with this important community event.

A snow date of January 25 has been set.
